Abbas Bohra grew up in a small village in Rajasthan, India — a part of the world where craft isn't learned from books. You learn it from the people around you, one thread and one weave at a time. He carried that instinct with him to Kuwait, and in November 2012 he opened GD Fashion at Deera Complex in Souk Mubarakiya.
Thirteen years on, every shawl and scarf on our shelves still passes through his hands first. He travels to source the materials himself, inspects each weave, checks the border, feels the fall of every fabric before it makes it into the shop. If a piece isn't good enough for someone in his own family, it doesn't make the cut.
